Aluminum is a non-ferrous light metal. Aluminum and its alloys have the characteristics of high specific strength, good plasticity, good electrical and thermal conductivity, good processability and corrosion resistance. They are widely used in aerospace industry, military industry, construction, electrical, chemical, transportation and other civil fields. Due to the wide application of aluminum alloy, different application fields have different requirements for the corrosion resistance of its surface. Aluminum alloy has good corrosion resistance and can be used for many years in neutral atmosphere, natural water, certain chemicals and most foods. This is entirely determined by the passivity of the natural oxide film formed on the aluminum surface, which means that the corrosion resistance of aluminum actually depends on the formation of the surface.

Due to the wide application of aluminum alloy, different application fields have different requirements for the corrosion resistance of its surface. Aluminum alloy has good corrosion resistance and can be used for many years in neutral atmosphere, natural water, certain chemicals and most foods. This is entirely determined by the passivity of the natural oxide film formed on the aluminum surface, that is to say, the corrosion resistance of aluminum actually depends on the oxidation state and nature of the aluminum formed on the surface. If this kind of surface oxide film is artificially strengthened, such as the antioxidant film obtained by the treatment of aluminum with aqueous silver paste passivation agent, the surface passivation is stronger than the natural oxide film, so the corrosion resistance is also better than the natural passivation film.

Although the anti-oxidation film on the surface of aluminum alloy has the ability of self-repair, if the anti-oxidation film is damaged in an environment that cannot be self-repaired, corrosion will inevitably continue to occur and develop. Therefore, the corrosion process of aluminum can be explained by the chemical properties of the oxide film in the environment, and it can also be explained by the chemical reaction between the metal aluminum and the environment.

The passivation process of aluminum is a complete chemical reaction process. It is recommended to use water-based silver paste passivator to treat aluminum parts, which will form a uniform, dense and undestructible passivation film on the surface of aluminum parts, mainly to extend the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of aluminum parts. Salt spray corrosion resistance can be improved on the basis of the original5-20 times more. The passivation of aluminum will never change the color, size, appearance and shape of the surface of aluminum parts, which is very beneficial for post-processing such as electroplating, electrophoresis, anodizing and spraying. At the same time, it absolutely does not affect any properties of aluminum itself, such as conductivity and so on.

The specific water-based silver paste passivator passivation process operation process is as follows:

1. Degreasing Degreasing: Immerse aluminum parts in aluminum degreaser KQ-AM 006 and operate at room temperature for 3-5 minutes. After the oil stains on the surface are completely removed, remove the aluminum parts and rinse the surface with detergent.

2. Passivation of aluminum: Soak the cleaned aluminum parts in the aluminum chromium-free passivator KD-AM 308 and operate at room temperature for 1.5 minutes. When the time comes, immediately remove the workpiece and rinse the surface with clean water.

3. Pure water: Soak the aluminum parts in pure water (bottled water or water filtered by a filter) for 3 minutes.

4. Dry packaging.
